Changing the map viewing area
You can easily change your map screen to reveal important information or to increase the map viewing area.
Simply tap the screen twice in quick succession and you can toggle the screen view between standard view (showing control buttons, satellite strength indication etc.) to expanded map view, which de-clutters the screen to show maximum mapping space.
You can also tap the expand/contract buttons (box with two arrows pointing either in or out at the corners) to achieve the same effect.

Note the second opaque blue button overlaid along the bottom of the map, which also controls the map view mode.
Revealing your location and zooming
Anquet Maps iPhone provides simple controls to locate your current position and to change the map magnification.
Tap the crossfire icon and you will immediately have your current position centred onscreen, defined by a small red arrow. This button is the third opaque blue button display along the bottom of the map.
You can zoom in and out by either using the familiar iPhone 'pinch' action, or the more accurate '-' and '+' icons. These buttons are the fourth and fifth opaque blue buttons displayed along the bottom of the map.

On screen menu functions
Anquet Mac iPhone provides a clear menu option to allow a rich list of features to be accessed.
Tapping the blue button located at the bottom left of the map screen (box with an arrow pointing up) will reveal a pop up menu display.
Features that can be accessed include:
- Go to Location
- Maps
- Find Place
- Edit
- Databases

GPS display
Anquet Map iPhone's GPS display provides a compass, realtime data feedback and navigation tools.
The data you wish to view is fully customisable, allowing the user to specify the data they would like to be displayed in six editable boxes.
Data such as speed, heading, average speed, distance to waypoint, bearing, time to waypoint, distance to end, altitude, maximum speed and distance are all definable.
If you are navigating, the next waypoint name is displayed and the compass arrow will point to the realtime direction of that waypoint.

Tracklog display
Anquet Maps iPhone's tracklog display provides instant access to your live tracklog data.
The data you wish to view is fully customisable, allowing the user to specify the data they would like to be displayed in the main display box and four accompanying smaller boxes.
Data such as elapsed time, speed, average speed, maximum speed, distance, heading,distance to waypoint, bearing, time to waypoint, distance to end and altitude are all definable.
Tracks can be started and reset with a simple tap, and also can be saved upon completion to later view or import into Anquet Maps Mac.
Tracklogs are also displayed realtime on the main mapping screen.

Goto location
Anquet Maps iPhone allows you to rapidly locate any given location using National Grid or Latitude/Longitude coordinates.
The 'Go to Location' feature is accessed by tapping the menu button on the main screen.
This will display a screen that allows you to choose between National Grid or Latitude/Longitude (OSGB or WGS84) coordinates.
Once the entries are made, you can either save a waypoint at that position or reveal it on the map display.

Loading your maps
It is very easy to locate and load any of your transferred maps.
From the main screen, tap the main menu button and then select 'Maps' from the pop-up list.
You will be presented with a list of maps to load, as well as a 'More Maps' option to access other maps on your device.
Maps that appear directly in the list are those maps that contains your current location. For example if you are in Bristol and are viewing the A-Z mapping, and there is also a photo map on the device which also contains the same location, this map would appear in the immediate list a well.
More Maps provides a full list of all maps that you have installed. You are free to select any map from this list. If the map does not contain your current location you will see a blank display.
It is then simply a matter of selecting the required map that you wish to load.

Find places
Anquet Maps iPhone allows quick and easy searching of place names.
Simply select the 'Find Places' option from the pop-up menu to display the search screen.
Here you can type in the search field and as you type a filtered list of place names will be displayed. Select the desired place name and the map will locate this location for you.
Not that you must have an appropriate gazeteer file for the area you are searching for this feature to function.

Waypoints and Routes
Anquet Mac iPhone provides full route and waypoint creation with a simple and intuitive interface.
Simply select the 'Edit' option from the pop-up menu to display the route and waypoint 'Edit' screen.
Here you can either select to add a waypoint or start a route. There are 'Undo' and 'Redo' buttons for you to correct any mistakes you my make during your selection.
When you select 'Start Route' (green flag button) a pop up instruction will advise you to tap on the screen successively to create your route. Once you have finished your route simply tap 'End Route' (red flag button) which will provide a screen to name your route.
Creating a waypoint is very similar, simply tap the '+ Waypoint' button (blue flag) at the desired point on the map and you will be taken to the screen to name your waypoint.
You can exit the 'Edit' screen when complete by tapping the 'Done' button (top right) and the route and/or waypoint will be saved to the database.
Whilst in the 'Edit' screen you can also tap any waypoint or route point to move it's location or tap the 'Info' button (top left) to edit the name, icon image and add notes.

Databases
You can easily access and view your databases and their content.
Simply select the 'Databases' option from the pop-up menu to display the Database screen. This will list all the currently saved databases on the device.
Selecting 'Info' from the bottom options will display information relating to the database. Here you can name or rename your database, view how many folders, routes and waypoints it contains and add notes.
Selecting 'Done' (top right) will save any changes made.
Other options available are to open, close, close all and save databases. You can also delete a selected database or delete all databases.
If you select the blue arrow to the right of a database name, you will be able to view the waypoints, routes and folders within that database.
You can edit these details by selecting 'info', 'Add' more folders, routes or waypoints to the database, show the position of a route or waypoint on the map screen or delete a route, waypoint or folder.
